Punta Blanca Golf Club

The Punta Blanca Golf Club is situated near the tourist town of Bávaro, which is in the province of Altagracia in the Dominican Republic. It is only a kilometer away from the Dominican southeast coast and runs across flat terrain, surrounded by exotic vegetation, lakes and wetlands, which borders the surrounding Playas. From Bávaro, one can reach the Punta Blanca Golf Club via the Carr. El Macao-Arena Gorda in 11 minutes, whereas it takes about 25 to 30 minutes from the neighboring coastal town of Punta Cana and its international airport. In 2007, the club opened the 18-hole Punta Blanca Golf Course in the type parkland with par 72, whose design the famous South African golf champion Nick Price was responsible for. The 6,559-meter-long course has quite wide fairways, lined by native trees, large, wavy, fast greens, numerous large bunkers and tricky waste areas, some doglegs, as well as three large lakes. These water hazards are especially noticeable at holes 3 to 5 and 7 of the course at the Punta Blanca Golf Club. Holes 13 and 15, where the golfers are required to make a complicated tee-off over a swamp, are said to be especially difficult on the athletically and technically challenging course.
