Rio Real Golf Club

The Rio Real Golf Club looks back on a long history since its founding in 1965 according to a design by Javier Arana. Due to its location along the coastal highway between Gibraltar and Malaga, this golf course is well-connected to the national Spanish road system and can be reached from the city center of Marbella in about 5 minutes by car. The spaciously designed Rio Real Golf Club is an 18-hole course (par 72) with a total length of more than 6,000 meters. Open year-round, the course counts among the best golf courses in all of Spain due to its scenic appeal and challenging holes. The fairways of Rio Real Golf Club are bordered by stately pines, olive trees, palm trees and Mediterranean cypresses. The large lake between holes 12 and 16 is not just another hazards, but also adds visual charm to the course. Due to the gradual differences in elevation, several tee-off points feature wonderful views over the course. At Rio Real Golf Club, the comprehensive offering of practice bunkers, putting greens and driving range is rounded off by a well-sorted Pro Shop and a local golf academy. Year-round, tournaments such as the “Torneo Bahia de Marbella” or “Torneo de Navidad” are organized almost in weekly frequency.
