Rondout Golf Club

The Rondout Golf Club is located in the town of Accord that belongs to the city of Rochester in Ulster County in the US state of New York. It winds through the picturesque Hudson Valley and provides a wonderful view on the Catskill Mountains, the Shawangunk Mountains and the Mohonk Mountain House observation tower. Located only four minutes away from the town center of Accord, the Rondout Golf Club can easily be reached within 2 hours from New York via the interstate 87 N. In 1969, the golf club first opened a 9-hole course that was designed by Hal C. Purdy. Later on, the Golf Club expanded the course to an 18-hole course with par 72. The course is 5,914 meters long and has fairways lined by trees and fast, wavy, crimped greens. Due to frequent changes from hilly to flat and vice versa, there are several altitude differences which make it more difficult to master the athletically and technically challenging course. The many water hazards, that are located at 16 of the 18 holes, also contribute to this. Thereby, hole 16, at which the golf players have to manage a huge hit across a large lake in order to teach the green, is especially remarkable. To be fit for this, golf players can train in the practice area of the club on a driving range with eight range tees, as well as a 54-meter-large short game area.
