Russley Golf Club

The Russley Golf Club in Christchurch ranks among the leading golf facilities in New Zealand with its new 18 hole championship course. Many large tournaments were hosted by the course, and still are to this day, such as the New Zealand Open in 1985 and the New Zealand Amateur Championships 2011. The par 72 course was renovated by golf course architect Greg Turner some years ago, with new greens and lakes added. The very flat course is well suited for players of all handicaps. There are four different tees on offer, which are suited for different levels of play (blue, white, yellow, and red). The fairways are lined by pines, oaks, and many other trees. Bunkers and water hazards are dotted over the course, requiring both skill and precision. The public club is open year-round and guests are always welcome. The ambience at the Russley Golf Club is characterized by openness and hospitality. The 19th hole is great for striking up a conversation with members and guests alike, over a good glass of wine or a savoury meal. The Russley Golf Club features a large practice area as well as a pro shop. You can book classes at the golf academy if desired. Russley is only a five-minute drive from the airport, and the city center of Christchurch is no more than fifteen minutes removed.
