Sainte Victoire Golf Club

The Sainte Victoire Golf Club sits on the grounds of the 17th century Château de l’Arc in the town of Fuveau, which belongs to the Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur region. From there you can enjoy a picturesque view of the Provencal lime sand brick mountain range Montagne de Sainte Victoire, from which the golf course received its name. The town center of Fuveau is nine minutes away from the Sainte Victoire Golf Club via the D468B and reachable within half an hour from the nearest larger city of Aix-en-Provence via the A8. The golf club was founded in the year 2003 and houses an 18 hole course of the woodland type with par 71, originally designed by the famous golf architect Sir Robert Trent Jones Jr., but reconstructed by Henri Roubaud in the course of the club’s new formation. Through its hilly design, the undulating greens, wide fairways lined by trees, bunkers, doglegs, but little water, the Sainte Victoire Golf Club is difficult to play, but golfers of all abilities are able to master it. It is ranked 17th of the best 60 golf courses in the Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur area and 103rd of the 625 French golf courses. Interestingly, the clubhouse is located right inside the Château de l’Arc, which was once owned by the painter Bernard Buffet, who then lost it while gambling.
