San Gil Club de Golf

Not far from the city of San Juan del Río, in a calm and rural location, one can find the golf club of San Gil. This small town is in the state of Querétaro, right in the center of the country. San Gil Club de Golf can easily be reached by car via the national road 45. The lanes of the 18-hole course are very narrow and run around a closed residential and holiday complex in two rows, with a lake in the center. Guests may only play in the San Gil Club de Golf if they are accompanied by a club member. In addition to the golf course, the facility also contains tennis courts and various other leisure opportunities such as a pool and a fitness facility. The golf course was designed by Pete and Roy Dye and was opened in 1980. The fairways are partly somewhat hilly, which provides variety and athletic challenges to advanced players even. The lanes are surrounded by trees. Bunkers and water hazards require players to have good technique and concentration. The sports club is open all year round. There is an on-site pro-shop where one can rent golf clubs, golf buggies, caddies and more. The facilities also include a bar and a restaurant. If desired, one can warm up in the training area on the driving range and the training greens. The atmosphere at the San Gil Club de Golf is casual and hospitable.
