San Lameer Country Club

San Lameer Country Club lies in the South African village of Southbroom, which is situated in the province of Provinz KwaZulu-Natal. It sits on the 200-hectare grounds of the San Lameer Estate within a holiday resort on the Lower South Coast, with a view of the Indian Ocean and the mountains, streams, and rivers of the hinterland. From Southbroom’s center, San Lameer Country Club can be reached in five minutes via Lagoon Drive and the R 61. The metropolis of Durban, however, is 90 minutes away from the club via the N 2. The club was established in 1992 and is home to an 18-hole parkland course with par 71 which was reconstructed in 2015 by the well-known golf course architects Peter Matkovich and Dale Hayes. The 6,104-meter-long course runs along hilly terrain with broad fairways, fast greens interrupted by breaks, cleverly placed bunkers as well as many water hazards such as lakes or artificial waterfalls. San Lameer Country Club’s narrow course layout is set up around one of the last wetlands on the southern coast of KwaZulu-Natal. Aside from a driving range, practice bunkers, and a putting green, the club’s practice area also offers a 9-hole pitch & putt course for practicing the short game. The championship course was voted among the ten most difficult courses in the country and the top 30 best golf courses by Golf Digest.
