Sawang Resort Golf Club

The drive from Hua Hin to the Sawang Resort Golf Club takes around one hour; it is located in the neighboring province of Petchaburi in Central Thailand. It features a 27-hole golf course, located in the heart of a hilly, rural environment with rice fields and fruit plantations. The course opened in 1993 with a design by Isao Katsumata. The spacious fairways are inviting, and many holes are flanked by large trees and bodies of water. In general, it demands both skill and focus from the players. All in all, the Sawang Resort Golf Club offers golfers a diverse round, and it is suitable for experienced golfers as well as beginners. Golfers with lower handicaps are sure to find two holes particularly challenging: hole 2 (a 535-yard, par-5 dogleg), and hole 17 (a 407-yard par 4, with island green). The delightful course is situated in a somewhat secluded location, and very popular with local golfers. Sawang is an attractive alternative for the usually quite touristy cities in Hua Hin. The course is part of a hotel resort that also offers further recreational and sport activities. It also boasts a driving range and a pro shop, where you can rent clubs, electric buggies, and the like. The Sawang Resort Golf Club is located around 30 kilometers from the city of Sa Phang, halfway between Bangkok and Hua Hin.
