Silky Oak Country Club

The Silky Oak Golf Club is situated in Rayong, at around 40 kilometers from Pattaya. The 18-hole, par-72 course opened in 2010. The attractive facilities are located in a very handsome, hilly landscape. The course is characterized by significant differences in elevation. Silky Oak derives its name from a pine-like tree that has leaves with a silver-grey-colored backside. The tree is endemic to Australia, and the course boasts quite a few of them. The parkland-course at Silky Oak Golf Club is part of the larger St. Andrews Golf Complex with a total of three courses. The course is designed for beginning golfers and mid-handicap golfers. The well-tended course features a unique layout: There are only 10 fairways, but 18 greens all the same. The fairways are very wide and split in two; this allows for two players to play in different directions at the same time. Many holes offer marvelous views of the delightful, hilly surroundings. The halfway houses at the tops of the hills are particularly worth mentioning, and great spots to enjoy a short break and take in the vistas. The Silky Oak Golf Club is part of a resort with two hotels and villas. There is also a clubhouse, pro shop, and indoor golf simulator with video analysis on-site. The restaurants offer hearty Western and Asian meals.
