Souillac Golf & Country Club

The Souillac Golf & Country Club is situated near to the south western commune of Lachapelle-Auzac, which can be found in the Midi-Pyrénées region, in the department of Lot. It sits on a 60 hectare limestone plateau in the center of an oak forest and provides a wonderful panoramic view of the Dordogne valley. The Souillac Golf & Country Club can be easily reached from Lachapelle-Auzac in 8 minutes and from the neighboring small town of Souillac in 12 minutes, both via the D15. It was established in 1996 and in 1999 opened an 18 hole, par 67 course, which was designed by the renowned golf course architect Jeremy Pern. At 4,389 meters long, the course is relatively short and is situated on very hilly terrain which is characterized by thick forest. The narrow fairways, numerous bunkers, water hazards and the many elevated greens and tees that set out an athletically and technically challenge on the course. Nevertheless, the course is playable for not only experienced golfers, but also for beginners. A highlight is hole 4, a double dogleg with a tee raised over water. The Souillac Golf & Country Club is counted among the best golf courses in south western France. It also provides a practice area for golfers with a driving range, which has over 10 covered tees, a putting green and practice bunkers.
