Stora Lundby Golfklubb

The Stora Lundby Golfklubb is situated in the locality of Gråbo, 25 kilometers north of the city of Gothenburg, in the southern Swedish region of Lerum. It is embedded into the typically hilly landscape of the Västergötland province, with many crooks, meadows and woods. Just six minutes from the center of Gråbo, the Stora Lundby Golfklubb is easily reached on Route 150 and the Gråbovägan. From Gothenburg it can be reached in half an hour over the E20. The club was founded in 1970, and two years later opened an 18-hole course of the inland links type, with par 72. The English golf course architect Frank Penning is responsible for the design. The course has a length of 5,632 meters and convinces through its wide, open fairways that make it ideal for long hitters. Numerous natural water hazards wind their way past almost all of the 18 holes. The course is classed as sporty, and can be played by beginners as well as experienced golfers. Beginners can also train their abilities on a 9-hole short course. People new to golf are recommended to visit a course in the club’s own golf academy. For golfers wanting to practice, the Stora Lundby Golfklubb has a driving range and a large putting green. Golf clothing and equipment are offered at the well-stocked pro shop on site.
