The Capitals Golf Club

The Capitals Golf Club was opened in 2006. It lies about 50 kilometers from Lithuania’s capital, Vilnius. The club’s name refers to the four famous historical cities in Lithuania: Kernavé, Trakai, Kaunas and Vilnius. There is a reason for this: In the 3rd century, a village was founded close to the course, and all four cities sprung up at nearly the same distance from this village. The golf course was designed by the renowned golf course architect Peter Chamberlain, who embedded the 18-hole course with par 71 into the wonderful landscape shaped by the last ice age. This place which formed the hunting grounds for the men of Kernave and Senieji Trakai for many centuries has become the location of one of the most beautiful courses of Lithuania, where golfers enjoy themselves today. The course is quite hilly. No less than 67 bunkers and eight lakes form parts of the fairways and require technical skills. The on-site golf academy offers individual lessons and courses. Additionally, a practice area with chipping and putting greens is available. Guests are always welcome. Those interested can rent of purchase equipment in the Pro Shop. In the sophisticated but also very cozy clubhouse, you can indulge yourself sumptuously at the club’s restaurant. The Capitals Golf Club can be reached from Kaunas or Vilnius via the A1.
