The Country Club atSilver Springs Shores

The golf club The Country Club at Silver Springs Shores is located in the town of Silver Springs Shores, which belongs to Marion County in the US state of Florida. It lies in an idyllic residential complex on the banks of Spring Lake. Five minutes from the town center of Silver Springs Shores, the Country Club at Silver Springs Shores is easy to reach from the neighboring town of Ocala via SE Maricamp Rd in 20 minutes. The club opened an 18-hole parkland type course with par 72 in 1969, for which the renowned golf course architect Desmond Muirhead supplied the design. He created a 6,341 meter long course which captivates with open, broad fairways and fast, difficult greens. While the first nine holes resemble a park landscape with their fairways lined by large trees, the second nine holes display a typical Florida course with many water hazards. At 8 of 18 holes, water comes into play in the form of very large lakes, which must be played across by golfers at holes 11, 12, and 18. Doglegs and bunkers do their part in adding difficulty to the athletically challenging course at the Country Club at Silver Springs Shores. It is seen as one of the best public courses in the area around Ocala and has already hosted many smaller tours and the US Open Section Qualifying.
