The Els Club Teluk Datai – Rainforest Course lies on the island of Langkawi in northwestern Malaysia. It spans a 500-hectare rainforest area and runs all the way to the crescent-moon-shaped beach of the Datai bay. The well-tended fairways are broad and tree-clad, the greens slightly slow and not particularly undulating. While the front nine are relatively flat, the back nine offer several changes in elevation. Highlights include hole 8 with a natural stream that crosses it, and hole 16, a difficult, sharply bent dogleg with gigantic overhanging trees.
