The Ridge Golf Course is situated in the city of Gaylord, which lies in Otsego County in the US state of Michigan. It sits near Otsego Lake, embedded in a forest and meadow landscape. From Gaylord’s city center, it takes 15 minutes to reach the Ridge Golf Course via the Interstate 75 BL. It was opened in 1992 as the Marsh Ridge Resort Course, a woodland type course with par 71, designed by Mike Husby. The course has a length of 5,693 meters and presents spectacular altitude differences. It features wavy fairways closely lined by trees, partly enormous greens, several doglegs, as well as numerous bunkers and water hazards such as wetlands, swamps, large lakes, ponds and streams. Golfers encounter water at holes 2, 7, 10, 13, 15, 17 and 18. They must play across it at holes 7, 10, 13, 17 and 18. Additional obstacles can be found at hole 10, at which a large lake in combination with a piece of forest and an enormous bunker crosses the fairway. Holes 13 and 18 present a similar situation, underlining the high demands of the Ridge Golf Course, designated as a championship course, for golfers of all handicaps. Golfers can prepare for the course in the club’s practice area, which includes a driving range, a putting and chipping area and a practice bunker.
