The Windsor Golf Hotel & Country Club

The Windsor Golf Hotel & Country Club is situated in the Kenyan capital of Nairobi, near the Karura Forest. It lies at a height of 1,830 meters on a 220-hectare area surrounded by coffee plantations, offering a beautiful view of Mount Kenya, the Ol Donyo Sabuk, and the holy Maasai buffalo. From Nairobi’s center, The Windsor Golf Hotel & Country Club is quick to reach via Kiambu Road in 18 minutes. It was founded in 1992 and features the 18-hole Windsor Golf & Country Club Course, a woodland/parkland course with par 72, opened in the same year. Renowned golf course architect Tom Macauley provided its design. The course, measuring 6,654 meters, displays considerable differences in the terrain, ranging from flat to very hilly. It features fast greens and broad fairways that wind through the native jungle. Water hazards such as lakes and ponds appear at nine of the 18 holes, including two island greens. Additionally, 73 bunkers ensure good protection and a challenge on the course. Golfers can train for this on 250-meter-long driving range, a putting green, and practice bunkers. The championship course is considered to be Kenya’s best golf course and was voted one of the top city courses in 2014.
