Thurles Golf Club

The golf course is located in rural and isolated Turtulla in County Tipperary. The 18-hole course with par 72 was originally designed by Lionel Hewson and meticulously integrated into the beautiful surrounding landscape. It is 5,100 meters long and is well-suited for players of all handicaps. The course at Thurles Golf Club is even considered one of the best parkland courses on the Emerald Isle – some even go so far as to consider it “Holy Ground.” The club is more than 100 years old and has enjoyed a long golf tradition. The fairways have been expanded and modernized several times. In 2007, the new course was opened. The first nine holes were designed by Mel Flanagan. The Suir, several lakes, and deep bunkers cut into the course and create challenging hazards. The fairways are designed to be open. The back nine holes are different: They compose the classic, elegant parkland course, characterized by large trees. The eleventh hole on the course is considered the best par three in Ireland. There is also a driving, a Pro Shop, and a golf school on-site at Thurles Golf Club. After a round of golf, members and gusts enjoy sitting together at the club house and pampering themselves by the culinary team at the club’s restaurant.
