Tioman Island Golf Club

The Tioman Island Golf Club lies on the Malaysian island of Tioman, off the eastern coast of Malaysia. It stretches across the grounds of the Berjaya Tioman Beach Resort and provides a beautiful view of the South China Sea with the island of Renggis and the surrounding jungle. From Mersing, a town on the opposite Malaysian eastern coast, a ferry and rental boats take golfers to the Tioman Island Golf Club in about half an hour. It initially opened the 9-hole seaview course in 1989, designed by the well-known golf course architect Ronald Fream. In 1992, the second 9-hole hillview course was added, following the design by Michael Coate. Now an 18-hole links course with par 71, the golf course has a length of 6,058 meters and is determined by narrow fairways, wide, hilly greens, numerous bunkers, water hazards such as waterfalls, ponds, and streams, as well as coconut palms and rocks. Several holes picturesquely run along the beach. The Tioman Island Golf Club houses the only golf club on the island of Tioman. It can be mastered by athletic golfers of all playing levels. In the club’s practice area, golfers may not find a driving range, but a short game practice for training the short game instead.
