Tjøme Golfklubb

The Tjøme Golfklubb lies in the center of the island of Tjøme, which is on the southern end of the Oslofjord in the Norwegian Vestfold County. The club is operated by the company Rød Golf A/S, who bought the club grounds and founded the club in 1989. In spite of its island location, the Tjøme Golfklubb is easily reachable. It is located 7 minutes from the center of the island municipality of Tjøme. From Oslo it is a 105-minute drive on the E18 to the golf course. Created by a German golf course architect, the 18-hole course of the parkland type, with par 72, is surrounded by grand oak trees. The course is 5,388 meters long and classically marked with bunkers, water hazards consisting of lakes and ponds, and narrow fairways. The course is the only golf course in the Nordic region that has a double-9 design. It was built on the terrain of the property that once belonged to the Norwegian poet Alf Larsen. The manor erected in 1865 on this property currently houses the lovingly cared-for clubhouse. In addition to the 18-hole course, the Tjøme Golfklubb also has a 9-hole course that can be played for practice purposes. Furthermore, there are a driving range with mats, a wide putting green, and two chipping greens with practice bunkers available for training. Trolleys and electric carts can be rented from the club.
