Tollundgaard Golfklub

The Tollundgaard Golfklub is located in central Jutland, between Silkeborg and Ikast, and is affiliated with the Tollundgaard Golf Park A/S. The club is just ten kilometers from Bøllingsø, a glacial kettle hole lake, and is also not far from the 500-kilometer long historical ancient trackway, Hærvejen, which runs right through Jutland. By Route 15, the Tollundgaard Golfklub is well connected to the cities of Silkeborg, Herning, and Ikast and is reachable from these in 20 to 25 minutes. It was founded in 2011, and hosts a 2,670-meter long 9-hole course of the parkland type and with par 70, which is played as an 18-hole course through different tees at the holes. The slightly hilly course meanders through the terminal moraine landscape of central Jutland, and is challenging to play with its numerous sand bunkers, doglegs, ponds and lakes, partially raised tees, and greens. Special features are the many Bronze Age burial mounds that can be found on the sides of some of the fairways, and old stonewalls that sometimes mark the border between the park and the open landscape around it. Holes 4 and 13 should also be highlighted, as a 35-meter wide lake crosses them. The Tollundgaard Golfklub, nearby which the 2,400-year old “Tollund Man” bog body was found in a bog in 1950, features a practice area with a driving range and a putting green where ambitious golfers can prepare for the challenge of the course.
