Tulfarris Golf Club

The Tulfarris Golf Club is located on the banks of the Pollaphuca Reservoir, southeast of Dublin. Via the N81 that passes by the Russborough House behind the lake, the club can be reached in around an hour by car from downtown Dublin. The Tulfarris Golf Club is comprised of a 4-star hotel and a generously-sized golf resort. The golf course was designed originally as a 9-hole course, but then expanded to 18 holes by golf architect Patrick Merrigan in 1993 after a change in ownership. At present, the Tulfarris Golf Club stretches across three peninsulas that reach into the lake landscape. This has led to many fairways and greens being located dangerously close to water hazards. Additionally, strategically-placed sand bunkers make for an exciting and varied game of golf. The Tulfarris Golf Club regularly hosts tournaments and social events. It also boasts a practice area with a driving range and a putting green, allowing golfers to hone their skills. The impressive club house is from the eighteenth century and was built on the ruins of Tulfarris Castle. Nevertheless, it offers modern comfort and a cozy place for refreshments and interesting conversations after a round of golf.
