Twin Lakes Golf & Country Club

The Twin Lakes Golf & Country Club is located in the municipality of Hamer in Dillon County, which is in the US state of South Carolina. It runs across a flat terrain with two large lakes, framed by dense pine groves. From the center of the Twin Lakes Golf & Country Club it can be reached in three minutes, while it takes 106 minutes from Columbia via the interstate 20 E and interstate 95 N. In 1950, it opened the 18-hole Twin Lakes Course in parkland style with par 71, that was created by Donald Ross. The relatively short course is 5,577 meters long and is home to fairways, lined by pines, that are sometimes very long, sometimes very short. The green are small and sand bunkers are located at every hole of the course at the Twin Lakes Golf & Country Club. The two name-giving lakes, as well as a stream, cross holes 8, 11, 17 and 18 as water hazards, and have to be overplayed by the golf players. Hole 8, whose green can only be reached with a courageous hit across the lake, is the signature hole of the course. Along the fairways the golf players can find two different teeing possibilities for various levels to master the athletically rather easy golf course.
