UNA Poggio dei MediciGolf Club

In Scarperia e San Piero, a community in midst of the picturesque green landscape of the Muggelo, is the largest golf course of Tuscany. The UNA Poggio dei Medici Golf Club, founded in 1992, is only about 25 kilometres from the metropolis Florence and very easily reachable via the autobahn A1. The UNA Poggio dei Medici Golf Club has a 18 hole course that was built by the golfer Baldovino Dassù and the architect Alvise Rossi Fioravanti according to USGA standards. Top-class tournaments, including the women’s Italian Open, the Alps Tour Open and the European Challenge Tour Open, have already been carried out here. The course is about 6,468 metres long and the area is hilly and embedded into a wonderful landscape. Water hazards and interesting green shots make the course diverse. The level of difficulty is said to be athletically challenging and five different courses offer possibilities for golfers of every level. An extensive driving range with 6 covered and 24 open tees as well as putting green and practice bunkers are provided and golf classes are available. The UNA Poggio dei Medici Golf Club is open year-round; guests with a club card (handicap 36) are always welcome after they sign up. Softspikes are necessary. The course has a clubhouse with a restaurant and equipment is available for hire at the pro shop: clubs, trolleys and electric carts. Caddies are available upon request.
