Vale de Milho Golf

The golf course Vale de Milho Golf is located near the well-known fishing village of Praia do Carvoeiro (“Beach of the Charcoal Burner”) in the district of Lagoa along the Algarve. It is situated near the fine sand beaches with their picturesque limestone boulders and offer a beautiful view of the Atlantic Ocean. Vale de Milho Golf is only 20 minutes from the town of Portimão and can be reached via the A22 from the Faro Airport in just 45 minutes. The course was opened in 1990 and designed by the four-time winning Ryder Cup player Dave Thomas. Only 926-meters long, Vale de Milho Golf is the small version of a championship course with all its sophistication. The 9-hole course with par 27 also includes curved greens, short, narrow fairways, well-placed bunkers and water hazards, as well as large groups of trees. Due to the small fairway lengths between 70 and 163 meters, the Vale de Milho Golf Course is ideal for beginners and golfers wanting to practice their short game. Hole 2 is a specialty of the course with a waterfall to the left that flows into a lake on the right, as well as hole 4, which boasts an elevated tee where golfers must play onto a much lower-lying green. For efficient golf training, Vale de Milho Golf has a small driving range with four tees, a practice bunker, as well as a putting and pitching area.
