Viborg Golfklub

The Viborg Golfklub is located just 2 kilometers from the center of the city of Viborg in central Jutland. It is near the Armild monastery and the Søndersø, on the site of an old farm. The club is surrounded by old river valleys and grants a beautiful view of Viborg and its well-known cathedral, as well as its surroundings. The Viborg Golfklub is well connected to its neighboring cities. From Silkeborg it is just 35 minutes on Route 52, from Holstebro just under an hour over Route 16, and from Herning it takes 50 minutes on Route 12 to reach the club. It was founded in 1973 and initially only featured a 9-hole course according to the plans of the Swedish golf course architect Jan Sederholm. Frederik Dreyer extended it to an 18-hole course. Eventually, Michael Trassdahl-Møller modified various fairways and expanded the 18-hole course to a 27-hole park by adding an additional 9 holes. Today, the golf course on the hilly terrain of the Viborg Golfklub consists of three equally sized 9-hole loops that are designated with the colors yellow, red, and blue. The newly added 9-hole course is a Pay&Play course with par 27 and a length of 1,140 meters. In Denmark, it is among the best public courses and, just like the rest of the golf park, has been ISO 9001 certified since 2012.
