The Zellwood Station Golf Club is located in the town of Zellwood, Orange County, Florida. It is situated between the hills northwest of Apopka, embedded in the park-like estate of the residential area. From downtown Zellwood, it can be reached in four minutes; from Orlando to the Zellwood Station Golf Club in just half an hour via I E and FL 414 W. The club opened its 18-hole course, type parkland with par 72, in 1974, designed by golf course architect George Maddox. The golf course is 5,318 meters long and traverses hilly terrain – unusual in Florida. The fairways are flanked by trees; the greens are diagonal, fast, and large at places. The course is characterized by significant differences in altitude and has many strategically placed bunkers. Water hazards can be found at six holes. Highlight of the course are holes 12 to 16 that surrounded a dried up lake known as “Crater Junction,” as well as hole 9 that boasts a narrow fairway, flanked by trees, and an elevated green with the nickname “Train Wreck.” Experienced golfers, as well as beginners, can play on this athletically challenging golf course at the Zellwood Station Golf Club which also boasts a 929-square meter large practice area.
