Zhuhai Golden Gulf Golf Club

The Zhuhai Golden Gulf Golf Club is located in Jinwan, a district of the South Chinese port city of Zhuhai, in the province of Guangdong. It runs across a five-square-meter-large area in an old riverbed, which was part of a fish farm on the edge of the South China Sea, and offers a beautiful view of the surrounding mountains and the sea. Located three quarters of an hour from the city center of Zhuhai, it takes about a half an hour to reach the Zhuhai Golden Gulf Golf Club from Zhuhai’s port Gongbei Port, from which you can cross the border to Macao in eight minutes by foot. It was founded in 2003, after an 18-hole-course in parkland/links course style with par 72 had been opened on the premises in 2002. In 2003, an illuminated 9-hole-course in parkland style with par 36 was added for nighttime golfing. The golf course architect Colin Montgomery was responsible for the course design. He created a 6,570-meter-long course with wide, tree-lined fairways, fast, partially elevated greens, some doglegs and numerous water hazards. The courses and greens are protected by 97 very large bunkers, which, together with some altitude differences, make playing the course at the Zhuhai Golden Gulf Golf Club more difficult. A 98,300-square-meter-large driving range, two putting greens and a chipping area with practice bunkers await golfers willing to train at the practice area of the club.
