The golf club Zion Hills Golf County is at home in the southwestern Indian city of Kolar in the state of Karnataka. It stretches across an area of 61 hectares between granite rocks and lakes in the middle of a newly developed residential complex. From Kolar’s center, the Zion Hills Golf County golf club, formerly known as the Champion Reef Golf County, can be reached in 20 minutes via the SH5. Bangalore, the state’s capital, however, lies about 90 minutes away from the club via the NH75. It was founded in 2011 and opened a 9-hole course with par 36 and a length of 3,299 meters in 2012. However, a 6,858-meter-long 18-hole course with par 72 is planned, with a design by the American golf course architect Ronald Fream of Golfplan. Bill Kessener is responsible for the construction of the golf course at Zion Hills Golf County. The course runs along hilly grounds with elevation differences of up to 130 meters. The layout is determined by wide, wavy fairways, large greens, bunkers, and several water hazards in the form of lakes. Designed as a championship course, the club calls India’s shortest hole with 208 meters its own. Even though it wasn’t yet completed, the course received the distinction of “Best New Golf Course In India 2015”.
