With a course rating of 70.6 (slope 126) for men from yellow, 68.6 (slope 121) for men from blue, 74.4 (slope 134) for women from blue, and 71.0 (slope 127) for women from red, the course offers a challenging game for beginners, advanced golfers, and professionals alike. The predominantly flat terrain is made tactically challenging by the almost constant North Sea winds, tidal creeks, and natural water hazards. During the 18-hole round, golfers experience an extraordinary variety of wildlife, including rare black-tailed godwits, white-tailed eagles, coot families, gray geese, and herons—a true nature experience that promotes calm and concentration. An evening round is particularly appealing, when the sun sets behind the dike and the North Sea dike is bathed in warm light. Beach chairs at many tees offer protection from the wind and sun and underline the maritime character of the course.
