Ashburnham Golf Club

In Burry Port in the south of Wales lies the links course at the Ashburnham Golf Club. It was founded in 1894 and is counted among the oldest golf clubs in Wales. The 18-hole course is located in a majestic dune landscape not far from where the rivers Burry and Worm’s Head meet, offering a picturesque view of Carmarthen Bay. Wavy, fast, and hard greens characterize the 6,062-meter-long course that traverses the natural dune landscape. Due to its location near the coast, wind plays a large role on the course, though it remains well-suited for players of all handicaps. Open fairways and dog legs demand technical know-how and strategy on a course that offers wonderful views of the dunes, the sea, and the Gower Peninsula – a course truly unique in Carmarthenshire. The atmosphere at Ashburnham Golf Club is very friendly and open; guests are always welcome. Rental clubs and trolleys are available at the Pro Shop. The club even boasts a driving range. The reception is also friendly at the club house which includes a restaurant where players enjoy good food and a drink after a round of golf. From the restaurant’s patio, gusts can enjoy a view of the majestic landscape the noon-time sun. The Ashburnham Golf Club is only around an hour from Cardiff and forty-five minutes from Bristol.
