Champions Club im Retreat

The Champions Club at the Retreat is located in the city of Corona, Riverside County, in southern California. It is situated in the middle of a ravine in Temescal Valley, near Cleveland National Forest, and offers a wonderful panorama view of the surrounding valley and forest. From downtown Corona, visitors can reach the Champions Club at the Retreat in just 15 minutes via I 15 S and in only 90 minutes from Los Angeles via CA 60 E. The opened its 18-hole course with par 72 in 2006, designed by Bill O’Leary at Nicklaus Design. The course was modified and renovated in 2009, 2011, and 2012 in order to reduce its level of difficulty. In 2015, the current, less challenging 6,167-meter long course was opened. It traverses hilly terrain with wide, wavy fairways and multi-level, diagonal greens. There are significant differences in altitude, dog legs, sand and green bunkers, as well as water hazards at six holes. Golfers must play over water at holes 5 and 16. Despite modifying numerous fairways and removing many bunkers, the course at the Champions Club at the Retreat is by now means boring, but can now cater to both beginners, as well as experienced golfers. It is considered one of the best golf courses in southern California.
