The Citrus Springs Golf & Country Club lies in the town of Citrus Springs in Citrus County, which belongs to the US state of Florida. It is situated on a slightly hilly terrain in the middle of a residential complex. From the neighboring city of Dunnellon, the Citrus Springs Golf & Country Club can be reached in just ten minutes via the US-41 S and the W Country Club Blvd. The club initially opened a 9-hole course in 1973, which was then expanded to an 18 hole North Carolina-style course with par 72 in 1977. Its design was provided by the golf course architect Charles Almony, who created the fairways on the wavy, 6,174 meter long course as slightly narrow and lined by many old oak trees. Numerous sharply bent doglegs, bunkers and elevated greens determine the visual aspects of the course of the Citrus Springs Golf & Country Club. Water hazards only exist in the form of two ponds at holes 1 and 18. Golfers can use four different teeing off boxes on the holes for varied levels of difficulty. In its practice area, the Citrus Springs Golf & Country Club offers golfers a driving range with 20 tees, a putting green, and a practice bunker for golf training. The on-site Pro Shop provides a good selection of golf equipment and clothing. Furthermore, golfers can rent golf clubs and electric carts if required.
