Desert Canyon Golf Club

The Desert Canyon Golf Club is located in the city of Fountain Hills, Maricopa County, Arizona. It traverses gorges and dried-out river valleys in the Sonora Desert and offers a wonderful view of Arizona’s mountains. The Desert Canyon Golf Club is well-connected to Scottsdale, being only around an hour away – closer still is Phoenix, only half an hour away. It was founded in 1971 and opened its 18-hole course (par 71) the same year. It was designed by golf course architect John Allen. The 5,949-meter long course is characterized by narrow, wavy fairways and large greens, flanked by trees, palm trees, and cacti. Dog legs and bunkers, but only a few water hazards, add to the desert course’s difficulty thought it can be played by golfers of all levels. Numerous elevated tees and greens are additional handicaps that challenge golfers, both athletically and technically. The highlight is hole 13 with its extremely high green. The course at the Desert Canyon Golf Club is counted among the top courses in Arizona and the top 25 in the area of Scottsdale and Phoenix. Golfers can practice in the practice area of the club at the driving range, a chipping and pitching area, a putting green, and at the practice bunkers.
