The Eastern Star Country Club & Resort is one of five Thai golf facilities designed by renowned golf course architect Robert Trent Jones Jr. The 18-hole, par-72 course was opened in 1992. The fairways are invitingly wide, and many are lined by gorgeous palm trees. Beginning golfers can look forward to a rewarding round as well; however, the water hazards in the form of ponds and lakes, as well as the approx. 65 bunkers and doglegs, are quite tricky. The Eastern Star Country Club & Resort is quite proud of its handsome facilities: palm trees, mango trees, and gorgeously designed flower beds embellish the course, which is located only around 45 minutes from Pattaya. A pleasant breeze often blows in from the sea. The signature hole of the Eastern Star Country Club & Resort is no. 13, a par-3 hole. Here, golfers must accurately drive the ball over the water and a deep bunker, striving to tee off onto the center of the green or a bit to the left. Players can practice this tricky shot on the practice grounds with driving range before their rounds. After the game, visitors like to meet at the club restaurant, which serves delicious thai cuisine. Other recreational facilities include a large swimming pool and tennis courts. Highway 3 leads from Pattaya to the pretty Eastern Star Country Club & Resort.
