Elephant Hills Golfplatz

The Elephant Hills Golf Course is situated on the edge of the border city of Victoria Falls in Zimbabwe. It lies embedded between the Zambezi River, Victoria Falls, and the Victoria Falls National Park, within earshot of the UNESCO world cultural heritage waterfalls. From Victoria Falls’ city center, the A8, Livingstone Way, and Mosi-oa-Tunya quickly bring golfers to the Elephant Hills Golf Course, which lies close to the Zambian border, in ten minutes. The club is half an hour away from Livingstone Zambia airport. The golf course was designed by South African golf course architect Gary Player as an 18-hole parkland course with par 72 in 1974. The originally 7,800-meter-long course, which winds along Kalahari sand and basalt rocks through bushes, was renovated in 1993 and shortened to a length of 6,205 meters. It features fast greens, numerous bunkers, and water hazards at 8 of the 18 holes, one of which is located right above the Devil’s Cataract at the western end of the Victoria Falls. Holes 13 to 15 are particularly challenging, providing water to the right and left of the fairways as well as before and around the greens. The many wild animals that cross the fairways or live in the water hazards add an additional difficulty at the Elephant Hills Golf Course. The championship course ranks among the best golf courses in Zimbabwe and is the only course in Victoria Falls.
