Golf de la Grange aux Ormes

The Golf de la Grange aux Ormes golf club was built near to the Lorrainese town of Marly, in front of the gates of Metz, the capital city of the Moselle department in the Alsace-Champagne-Ardenne-Lorraine region. It spreads across an area of 85 hectares, in the palace grounds of the Domaine de la Grange aux Ormes from the 18th century and offers spectacular views of the Val de Metz. The Golf de la Grange aux Ormes is 6 minutes away from Marly via the D5C and 20 minutes from Metz by the D5. It was established in 1991 and is a 27 hole facility, which was designed by Philippe Gourdon. It consists of the par 72, 18 hole Le Bois Brûlé course and the par 31, 9 hole Le Breuil course. Le Bois Brûlé is 6,192 meters long and stretches across very hilly, forested terrain which is flanked by the small river Seille. The very wide fairways are lined by ancient trees. Numerous water hazards, bunkers and doglegs make the course athletically and technically demanding. In contrast, Le Breuil is 2,011 meters long and with less water is easy for beginners to manage. Since 2004, the Golf de la Grange aux Ormes golf club has been the venue for the International Open Mirabelle d’Or, one of the stages of the Alps Tour, and is counted among the 40 most beautiful golf courses in France.
