Indigo Creek Golf Club

The Indigo Creek Golf Club can be found in Horry County, between the villages of Murrells Inlet and Garden City. Horry County is in the US state South Carolina. The club lies embedded between brooks, pine forests and tall oaks on the site of a former indigo plantation in South Carolina’s Grand Strand region. From Garden City you can reach the club in just nine minutes, from Murrells Inlet in 13 minutes. The Indigo Creek Golf Club is just half an hour away from Myrtle Beach via the US highway 17 Bypass S. In 1990, it opened an 18 hole, par 72 course, which was designed by the notable golf course architect Willard C. Byrd. He created a 6,169-meter-long course with small greens and fairways densely lined with pine trees and oak trees. The course has several doglegs, bunkers and water hazards at 14 of the 18 holes. Golfers must dare a tee shot over water at the holes 4, 6, 11, 12 and 17. Especially demanding are the holes 11 and 12, where golfers must play over not only a lake, but also a huge bunker and a small forest that crosses the fairway. The most challenging golf course in the Indigo Creek Golf Club was chosen as one of the top 10 “Places to Play” in 1998 and poses high demands to golfers with any handicaps.
