Königlicher Harare Golf Club

The Royal Harare Golf Club can be found in the city center of Zimbabwe’s capital of Harare in the northern center of the African country. It lies near the presidential palace and boasts good transport connections. From Harare’s center, the trip to Royal Harare Golf Club via Herbert Chitego Avenue and Josiah Tongogara Street takes just seven minutes. Harare International Airport is also just 20 minutes away from the club. It was already founded in 1898 as Salisbury Golf Club, which first opened a links course with sand greens in 1901. In 1980, it was renamed Royal Harare Golf Club. The course was redesigned and lengthened in 1996 by Nick Price and Steve Smyers. Today’s course is an 18-hole parkland course with par 72 and a length of 6,427 meters. It exhibits long, narrow fairways, mostly elevated and partly very large greens that are vehemently protected by 83 bunkers. However, water hazards cannot be found on the course. In its practice area, the Royal Harare Golf Club offers two driving ranges with floodlights as well as a putting and a chipping green with several practice bunkers for training long hits and the short game. The course has been the permanent host of the Zimbabwe Open since 2010 and is thereby included in the best golfing options in Zimbabwe.
