Timberlake Country Club

The Timberlake Country Club is located in the small city of Chapin, that belongs to Lexington County in the US state of South Carolina. It is embedded in the residential area of Timberlake Plantation, at the idyllic banks of Lake Murray. Timberlake Country Club can be reached in 12 minutes from the center of Chapin and in about 40 minutes from Columbia. In 1988, it opened the 18-hole Timberlake Plantation Golf Course with par 71, designed by the golf course architect Willard C. Byrd. He created a layout with a length of 6,134 meters that runs along a hilly terrain with many altitude differences and is characterized by difficult fairways that are lined with trees. There are numerous doglegs, sand bunkers and water hazards at the holes 1, 4, 12, as well as 16 to 18. At hole 4, 12 and 17, the golf players are forced to hit across a lake in order to reach the green. Because there are various teeing options, the course at the Timberlake Country Club can easily be mastered by golf players of all levels, despite its athletic and tactic challenges. They can train for this at the training area of the golf club on a large driving range with 50 tees, as well as a putting and chipping zone with practice bunkers.
