Welshpool Golf Club

The Welshpool Golf Club is located between Shrewsbury and the Snowdonia National Park in the hilly landscape near Welshpool. Via the A458, the golf course is well-connected to the surrounded area and only one and a half hours from Liverpool by car. The traditional Welshpool Golf Club was founded in 1894 at a different location and was only moved to its current location in 1930. The 18-hole golf course designed by James Braid has been praised by leading golf editors, such as Bernard Darwin, for its course design and breath-taking views of the Welsh hills. Especially the eighth fairway demands a technically exact game, even from experienced golfers – otherwise the ball may become lost in the deep grass bunker or go over the steep cliff to the right. Next to the twelfth hole, remains of an old Roman fort can be founded. The Welshpool Golf Club regularly hosts open golf tournaments; golf special offers and gastronomy packages are available for groups of four people or more. Electric buggies can be rented directly at the club house upon request. The cozy club house also offers fantastic views of the entire Welshpool Golf Club, in addition to a cozy atmosphere and regional culinary specialties.
